Love Potion #9 (Oil Exotique)
The concept of this old formula has always been to attract men. Back in a day
when pheremones didn't have a name, it was suspected an animal type scent would attract a man, and many combinations were put together in perfumes as 'men attractors." The theory was to combine a little
sweetness (rose) with a food scent that men find irresistable (vanilla), a strengthening smell for courage (vetiver) with musky, earthy smells to stimulate age-old carnal memories (patchouli and frankincense.)
I love good frankincense; sometimes I dab a bit behind my ears before I go somewhere. My husband laughs because every time I do this,
some man stops me and asks me what perfume I'm wearing (he wants to get some for his wife…). Play with different varieties of the oils listed below and you may just find your Love Potion #9!
Use the Body and Anointing Oil formula as a base.
You Will Need:
Body and anointing Oil (See Below) 1 drop patchouli essential oil 1 drop vetiver essential oil
2 drops frankincense essential oil 2 drops rose essential oil 4 drops vanilla essential oil
Mix all of the essential oils together. Then mix with the Body and Anointing Oil. Store in a dark
amber glass bottle.
Shelf Life: 4 to 8 months
Body and Anointing Oil This formula can be use as a bath oil, an after-sun body oil, or as an anointing oil. It is moisturizing and nutritious for
your skin, but not as "heavy" as the Super Moisturizing Massage Oil formula, so it will soak into your skin quicker. It is best for normal to oily skin.
You Will Need
1 cup apricot kernel oil
¼ cup virgin olive oil 1 teaspoon wheatgerm oil 1 teaspoon jojoba oil 3-5 drops essential oil of your choice (either one or a combination)
Mix all together. Store in a cool, dry place.
Shelf Life: 4 to 8 months

This pattern is just one of the many you will find in Krause's The Good Earth Bath, Beauty & Health Book.
