There are so many different kids’ crafts to do. Kid’s crafts are great to help get your kids out of the routine of daily life. Kid’s crafts are also great for rainy days because it helps your kids to do something other than watch TV or play videogames. Here is one kid’s craft idea for the rainy days that you can use.

One kid’s craft idea for a rainy day is making a band. A lot of musical instruments can be made from things you have in your own house. The first musical instrument you can make is a paper plate shaker.

All you will need is two paper plates, dried beans, and a stapler. Take the paper plate and let your kids decorate the back side of the paper plate using crayons or markers. After they are finished decorating their plate turn it over and take a handful of beans and place the beans on the plate. Then take the other plate and place it on top of the paper plate that has the beans. Take a stapler staple around the edges making sure that you seal off everything really good so no beans can spill out.

The next instrument you can make is a tambourine. You can do this by taking a paper plate and cutting out the middle of the plate so only the paper plate rim is left. Then on the rim take a hole punch and punch three holes in around the rim. Then take three small pieces of string and thread one piece through each hole and tie a bell to the end of each string. Then taking markers or crayons let your kids decorate their tambourine to give it their own sense of style. Then your kid’s tambourine will be complete.

The next instrument you can add your kids band is a kazoo. You will need a paper towel tube and then cut a 5 inch square piece of wax paper. Take your piece of wax paper and place it over the end of your paper towel tube and secure it with a rubber band. Then let your kids decorate the paper towel holder with markers or crayons to give it some character.

Another instrument you can add to your kid’s band is a guitar. You can do this by taking a box and stretching rubber bands a cross the box. Then you can use tape to secure the tape on both sides of the box (you can either packaging, masking, or duct tape). Then have you kids pick which side they want to be the top of the box and attach a paper towel tube with tape (this will be the neck of the guitar). Then if your kids want they can take some markers or crayons and decorate the guitar.

Then the band is ready to play. If you want some drums you just need to add some metal mixing bowls or pans and some wooden spoons and your kids can play music all afternoon even if it is a rainy day outside.

There are a variety of crafts to choose from and they are great for rainy days. Making a band is a great kid’s craft idea for the rainy days it will help them to use their imagination and think outside the box. Rainy days are great excuses for crafts so take the opportunity to help your kid’s get interactive with crafts so they will look forward to rainy days that can be spent doing crafts instead of watching TV or playing video games.
